Planning Commission:  Results of January 14, 2019, Public Hearing


Planning Commission recommended approval (6-0) of an application from Seven Hills Investment Properties, LLC, to rezone property located at 3162 Williamson Road, N.W., from CN, Commercial-Neighborhood District, to CG, Commercial-General District, with conditions.

Planning Commission recommended approval (6-0) of an application filed by the City of Roanoke to vacate a portion of Denniston Avenue, S.W., from its intersection with the southern side of Memorial Avenue, S.W.

Planning Commission recommended approval (6-0) of an application filed by the City of Roanoke to rezone 1742 Memorial Avenue, S.W., from Commercial-Neighborhood District (CN) to Institutional Planned Unit Development District (INPUD), a portion of 0 Denniston Avenue, S.W., from Commercial-Neighborhood District (CN) and Residential Mixed Density District (RM-2) to Institutional Planned Unit Development District (INPUD), a portion of 1810 Denniston Avenue, S.W., from Residential Mixed Density District (RM-2) to Institutional Planned Unit Development (INPUD), and a portion of the Denniston Avenue right-of-way to be vacated between these parcels from Residential Mixed Density District (RM-1), Residential Mixed Density District (RM-2) and Commercial-Neighborhood District (CN) to Institutional Planned Unit Development District (INPUD).

Planning Commission recommended approval (6-0) of proposed amendments to Chapter 36.2, Zoning, of the Code of the City of Roanoke (1979), as amended, by amending and reordaining, adding or deleting code sections to update, clarify and make the City's zoning ordinance easier to use for its citizens.

Planning Commission also voted (6-0) to schedule a public hearing on February 11, 2019, to consider proposed amendment to Vision 2001-2020, the City's comprehensive plan, to replace the Parks and Recreation Master Plan adopted in 2013 with the updated Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
