Citizens Invited to Attend Roanoke Paw Watch Community Outing

The Roanoke Police Department invites citizens to join them at the Roanoke Paw Watch community outing at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at the dog park located in Highland Park, 641 Walnut Ave. SW.  Roanoke Paw Watch is designed to encourage neighbors to assist law enforcement by acting as extra eyes and ears while out walking their animals. The program is not a "K9" or dog training program for citizens. Instead it is strictly an observe-and-report program to encourage residents to maintain situational awareness while walking their animals.  Created by the National Association of Town Watch, Paw Watch is a national program with more than 2,000 jurisdictions involved.
