City to Combine MyRoanoke Categories for News Notifications

MyRoanoke Subscribers:

First, thank you for subscribing to the City of Roanoke’s email notification system, MyRoanoke. Our goal is to keep you updated and aware of news you need to know as a citizen.  Over the years we have done this by offering subscriptions to multiple news categories. However, as news cycles and methods of sharing news have evolved, so must our approach to sharing news.

As a result, effective Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, many of our news categories for MyRoanoke email notifications will be combined into one category – “Roanoke News” – to ensure subscribers aren’t missing out on important information about topics like sustainability, solid waste, and arts and culture, as well as general news and announcements. Street closing notifications will continue to be sent as separate MyRoanoke messages.

As we combine subscriber lists into one new category, old categories will be deleted. So if you receive an email from our website host, Civic Plus, informing you that you have been “unsubscribed” from a MyRoanoke category, do not be alarmed. You are now subscribed to the “Roanoke News” category and will continue to receive a variety of news from the City of Roanoke.  We appreciate your interest and your willingness to try our new approach to better serve you.

If you have questions, please send an email to communications@roanokeva.gov or call 853-6357.
