On Friday, Sept. 14, the City of Roanoke and local partners are hosting the first of seven Welcoming Week events: a free soccer party. The party will take place between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Star City Soccer's indoor facility located at 3624 Aerial Way Dr. Participants will enjoy free appetizers, entertainment from a live DJ, friendly pick-up soccer matches, and the opportunity to meet new neighbors and friends.

Welcoming Week is a nationwide initiative that hundreds of localities celebrate annually by bringing together immigrants, refugees, and native-born residents to promote the benefits of welcoming everyone.
