City of Roanoke Defined Contributions Board to Hold Special Meeting

The City of Roanoke Defined Contribution Board, which administers the Defined Contribution Plan for employees of the City, will hold a special meeting of the Board at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, at the Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building, located at 215 Church Avenue, S.W., in the City Manager’s Conference Room, Suite 364. The Board will consider matters that may affect the Plan as the result of the enactment of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on March 27, 2020, including a Required Minimum Distribution Waiver, Coronavirus Related Distributions, and other retirement-related provisions contained in the CARES Act.  A quorum of the Board will be physically present in the City Manager’s Conference Room and other members of the Board will participate through electronic communication means.

Based on the declarations of emergency made by the President of the United States, the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the Roanoke City Manager, the emergency created by the COVID-19 pandemic disaster makes it unsafe and unhealthy for the public to attend this special meeting in person. In addition, the City Manager has closed the Municipal Building to the public, effective as of March 18, 2020. The public may participate at this special meeting by dialing 1 (980) 729-7606 and entering passcode: 390 562 93# at the commencing of this special meeting at 1 p.m., on April 15.
