Roanoke Remembers: Healing the Wounds of Gun Violence in our Community

Sunday, July 14, 2019

Doors will open at 4 p.m. as a time for residents to bring photos of friends and loved ones whose lives have been lost by gun violence, to place on a memorial wall in the lobby of the school. Grief counselors will be on-site to listen and guide conversations, if desired. A program including interfaith prayers, poems, creative dance, story sharing and song will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. in the auditorium. Photos for the memorial wall may be submitted the day of the event and placed on the memorial wall, or a digital photo may be submitted by email prior to the event to be included in video presentation of loved ones to be remembered, by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at clerk@roanokeva.gov. If you have questions about the “Roanoke Remembers” event, please contact Vice-Mayor Joe Cobb at joseph.cobb@roanokeva.gov.
