The City of Roanoke developed a "Star City Strong Recovery Task Force" to identify areas that Coronavirus Relief Fund monies needed to be spent in our community.

If you are an individual that is in need of COVID19 Recovery Funds, please click this link: Individual COVID19 Recovery Funds Grant Application .  Please fill out the application and email the pdf document to: humanservices@roanokeva.gov  (or you may drop off your completed application at the City of Roanoke Department of  Human Services. *NOTE: YOU MUST LIVE IN THE CITY OF ROANOKE, TO QUALIFY FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN THE CITY OF ROANOKE, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL JURISDICTION TO SEE IF CARES ACT FUNDING IS AVAILABLE.*

The individual CARES Act Program with Department of Human Services does not assist with rent, mortgage, or water payments.  Please contact Total Action for Progress (TAP) at the link below to apply for rent or mortgage assistance.  For assistance with water bills due to income loss or reduction from COVID-19, you may apply for Authority Cares assistance through the banner at the top of the page at www.endhomelessnessblueridge.org

For additional information if you have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic or are having financial difficulties paying your water and sewer utility bill, assistance to pay your bill is available through the CARES Act and Authority Cares at https://www.westernvawater.org/about-us/newsroom/news-releases/authority-cares

Applications are also available at the City of Roanoke Department of  Human Services located at 1510 Williamson Rd., NE Roanoke, VA 24012.

Through the Coronavirus Relief Fund, the CARES Act provides for recovery funds payments to State, Local, and Tribal governments navigating the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak.  $150 billion has been established in the fund to be distributed across the United States.
