A Picnic in the Park (Highland Park) will be taking place and presented by “On the Edge” hair salon. Owner, Beth Dimun is partnering with OSW, Inc. and producing this fun time. Beth has reached out to several local restaurants and they are providing some side dishes and desserts. The Picnic in the Park will take place on SUNDAY JUNE 2, 2019 from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. in front of the Alexander-Gish House. The event is FREE but everyone is asked to bring their favorite beverage and a side-dish to be shared. AND there will be LIVE MUSIC! The band “Leggz” will be providing some great tunes for everyone to enjoy; everything from today’s popular music to Motown, 70’s and 80’s. Thanks to the Food Fanatics Kitchen, Wildflour Restaurant and Bakery, Old Southwest Barbershop and Sunnyside Market for providing some of the hot dogs side-dishes. We hope to be adding a few more businesses to help out. Tell a Neighbor, bring a Friend!
Neighborhood Month provides you with an opportunity to learn about a neighborhood (or neighborhoods) other than your own and to meet the folks who live there. By leaving the comfort of your own neighborhood and venturing out to see what the rest of Roanoke and our neighborhoods are really about you will quickly discover just how unique each neighborhood is.
At the same time, learn that each is filled with warm and friendly people who care about their neighborhood - just as you care about yours. So venture out, meet neighbors in other neighborhoods and experience why all of Roanoke's neighborhoods are places we are each proud to call home.
