The following list of vacancies is updated, if necessary, after each City Council meeting. Roanoke City Council appoints members to approximately 64 authorities, boards, commissions and committees.

As of March 16, the following vacancies exist:  
     
  • Architectural Review Board - one vacancy
    • Four-year term of office ending October 1, 2023
  • Board of Zoning Appeals - one vacancy
    • Three-year term of office commencing January 1, 2021 and
      ending December 31, 2023
  • Building and Fire Code Board of Appeals - one vacancy (Builder)
    • Three-year term of office commencing July 1, 2020 and ending June 30, 2023
  • City of Roanoke Finance Board  - one vacancy (Citizen Member)
    • Two-year term of office commencing July 1, 2020 and ending June 30, 2022
  • City Planning Commission - one vacancy
    • Four-year term of office commencing January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2024
  • Mill Mountain Advisory Board - one vacancy 
    • Unexpired term of office ending June 30, 2020
  • Roanoke Civic Center Commission - one vacancy
    • Three-year term of office commencing October 1, 2020 and ending September 30, 2023
  • Roanoke Valley Regional Cable Television Committee - one vacancy
    • Three-year term of office commencing July 1, 2020 and ending June 30, 2023
