Fair Housing Seminars
Dear Housing Provider:
In celebration of Fair Housing Month 2017, the City will be sponsoring two exciting training sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, April 26 & 27, 2017 at the Jefferson Center, Fitzpatrick Hall, Jefferson Center, 541 Luck Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24016.
April 26th: From 9:00 am to 1:00 pm the city will host its Semi-Annual Spring Fair Housing Seminar. Mally Dryden-Mason from DPOR will present information regarding the Federal and State fair housing laws and the impact those laws can have on all aspects of housing. A certificate of completion will be provided which may be used to receive Fair Housing Board Certification from DPOR.
April 27th: From 9:00 pm to 4:00 pm (with a break for lunch on your own) the city will host a Reasonable Accommodations/Reasonable Modifications Seminar. This is a NEW session for Roanoke! Mally Dryden-Mason will present an informative session as part of the Passport to Fair Housing program about Reasonable Accommodations and Reasonable Modifications in rental housing. This seminar will focus on the response to requests for reasonable accommodations and reasonable modifications based on disability from landlords, owners, community managers, local government, and local service providers. A certificate of completion will be provided. NO Continuing Education Credits will be provided for this session.
Both sessions are free and open to the public. Registration is limited to the first 300 registrants and you must remain the entire time in order to receive credit. No certificates will be mailed after the day of the seminar and individuals who arrive late or leave early will receive no credit.

You will receive a confirmation email at least one week prior to the date of the seminar. Registration closes on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 5:00 pm OR when the limit of 300 registrants has been achieved, so SIGN UP TODAY!
