The Office of Environmental Management is a division within the Department of Public Works. We provide environmental regulatory compliance assurance, policy and programs for all city operations.
Many city operations and activities are subject to environmental regulations (ie. waste generation and disposal), and like any other organization we must comply with applicable laws. The city is committed to exceeding minimum regulations and being a leader in the adoption of programs and policies that are best in class for the jobs that we do.
Additionally, we coordinate closely with the city Fire and Police Departments and State and Federal agency partners in responding to potentially hazardous spills and related environmental incidents and pollution.
