City of Roanoke Citizens' Planning Academy

Roanoke's Citizens’ Planning Academy is a dynamic and interactive program providing residents with a history of city planning with discussions centered on the development patterns that have created the framework of our present community and the forces that will influence our future.

The Academy will provide attendees with the opportunity to participate in five (5) lively and informative discussions about how city planning helps to shape our community and the importance citizen engagement plays in the planning process. Although the program seeks to engage residents about city planning, it is not intended to address the City's position on any particular topic or project.

The next Academy is scheduled to begin on Tuesday March 7, 2017 and continue on each consecutive Tuesday evening through April 4, 2017 at the Grandin CoLab located in the heart of the Grandin Village at 1327 Grandin Road in Roanoke, Virginia.
Arrive early and bring your take-out dinner available from one of the many diverse selections offered by the Grandin Village restaurants!

The schedule for the program is as follows:
6pm - 6:30pm............grab some dinner from nearby and mingle
6:30pm - 7:30pm.......formal program
7:30pm - 8:30pm.......deep dive/additional discussion

There is no cost to participate but registration is required.

Come join us as we learn the processes used to encourage quality development in our city and how your ideas can become a vital piece of this important planning process.
