Project Description:
This project calls for the significant renovation of the present 5,800 sq. ft. facility along with expansion to add approximately 4,000 sq. ft. of new floor space.  The program being considered includes improvements that will nearly double the children’s area; significantly increase space offered for tutoring and meetings, to include doubling the size of the current public meeting room; and enhancements to the “Library to Your Door” program offered to seniors and homebound patrons.  The project would also address critical maintenance concerns to include replacement of the existing HVAC and roof systems, and removal of the asbestos that remains in the building.  The newly revamped facility will be made energy-efficient, to include the achievement of a “Certified” rating through LEED, a certification program developed under the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
